Join chef Karyn who will show you how to make homemade bagels from scratch. You’ll get to choose different types of bagels to make. Whilst the dough is rising, we will make different sweet and savoury toppings to go with them. We will also be harvesting whatever lovely veg we have in our garden to make some delicious salads. The session will involve baking and cooking together and sharing baking tips and ideas for delicious, seasonal summer recipes. At the end of the class we will sit down together for a light supper to sample what we’ve made. You can take home any left overs and the recipes.
About chef Karyn…..
Karyn was born in Israel, raised in the US and Israel and currently lives in Leicester. For several years prior to Covid, she had a vegan baking business where she supplied cakes to cafes and did the deliveries on her bike. These days she works part-time in the charity sector and plays guitar and sings as a solo artist in Leicester, but still cooks everything from scratch and creates recipes for her friends, family and Jewish community to enjoy. As Karyn is of mixed Ashkenazi (Belarus) and Mizrahi (Yemen) heritage, she is not averse to merging cooking styles in order to create unique flavor combinations. She does occasional cookery demonstrations with Food for a Future at Glastonbury as various vegan festivals around the Midlands, as well as at Vegfest London.
